„Novenen-Staffel“ :
To celebrate the “Year of Arnold and Joseph“ (January 29, 2008 – January 15, 2009) the Preparatory Commission of the German Provinces SSpS and SVD invites SVD and SSpS and all others interested in the spirituality of St. Arnold and St. Joseph to join prayer chain or “a relay novena” where the praying of the novena is passed on from one group to the next like the baton in a relay race When one group finishes the nine days of the novena the next group takes over. Thus prayer to the two saints will never cease throughout the “Year of Arnold and Joseph“. A total of 40 groups – each praying the novena of either St. Arnold or St. Joseph for 9 days – is needed to assure that the prayer chain is never interrupted in the 360 days of the “Year of Arnold and Joseph“. One of the intentions especially recommended in praying the novena is the following: Through intercession of the two saints may we understand better our mission in a secularized world and be able to dynamically bear witness to the word of God and proclaim it.
